What does the client need to provide to start development?
You do not need a complete technical specification. A product concept, reference sample or description, target market, and general performance preferences are enough to begin. Our engineers will guide you through the brief process and ask the questions needed to build a complete development direction. The more context you can provide, the faster we can align.
How is a sample confirmed and approved?
Once the initial sample is prepared and passes our internal evaluation, it is shipped to you with a structured feedback sheet. You test the sample and return your comments -- on texture, colour, scent, application, or any other parameters. A sample fee is required before samples are dispatched. Approval is confirmed in writing before production begins.
How are formula changes and revisions handled?
Revisions are handled by the same engineers who developed the original formula, ensuring continuity. Each revision round is documented with change notes so you can track what has been adjusted. The number of revision rounds and any associated costs will be outlined in your development agreement. We aim to resolve most feedback within two to three rounds.
When does the product move into full production?
Production begins after three conditions are met: the formula sample is approved in writing, the packaging is confirmed and compatibility-tested, and the production order deposit is received. Our team prepares the full production dossier -- batch records, material specs, and compliance documents -- before the order enters the GMP manufacturing line. MOQ starts at 6,000 units per SKU.
Can I develop a product if I do not have packaging selected yet?
Yes. Formula development and packaging selection can proceed in parallel. Our team can suggest compatible packaging options based on the formula type and your brand direction. Packaging confirmation is required before production, but it does not need to be finalised at the brief stage. We can assist with sourcing if needed.
What certifications apply to ODM products?
All products manufactured at CHOICEODM are produced under ISO 22716 and GMPC standards. Halal certification is available. MSDS documentation is prepared as standard for export. If your target market requires specific compliance documentation -- such as CPNP for the EU -- please raise this at the brief stage so it can be factored into the development process.
